Tyre McCants is a veteran wide receiver that could have a big impact this year, as long he is healthy and ready to go.
#8 Tyre McCants – 5’11” 225 lbs. – Junior – Wide receiver – Niceville, FL (Niceville HS)
2016: McCants played in all 13 games (9 starts) with 25 receptions for 384 yards (15.4 yards per catch) with 4 receiving touchdowns.
Recruiting history: In his senior year, McCants was named 2nd team Class 7A. He recorded 818 receiving yards, 560 rushing yards, and 540 return yards along with 18 touchdowns. He was a 3-star recruit with offers from Louisville, Georgia, and FSU, among others.
2017 projection: McCants missed the spring after recovering from off-season surgery and is not on the current two deep. He is a good receiver with experience and I would expect him to see playing time this year even if he does not start a lot of games. As we have said before, this receiver group is loaded and he is just one of the many talented receivers they have.
