This is the second and last exhibition game for the Bulls as they prepare for the regular season (game begins at 5 PM on Saturday). They will be facing Troy who went 7-10-3 last year but just 2-7-2 away from home.
The Trojans averaged 1.10 goals per game and allowed 1.10 goals per game last year. This year’s squad has to replace its top two goal scorers from last year but does return its keeper that Evelyne Viens and crew will have to contend with.
The top scoring threats that return from last year’s team is sophomore forward Qarli Stone who scored 2 goals on 6 shot attempts last year in 17 games. Another player to watch on offense is senior defender Haley Roberson who had 4 assists and added 7 shot attempts in 20 games. Kat Elliott will be facing a young squad, but has to be ready for anything and get prepared for the regular season. FGCU was able to go up early on her in the first exhibition game, so she has to be ready.
In net for Troy is senior keeper Mikki Lewis who allowed 20 goals in 19 games last year while making 65 saves (.765 save percentage). She totaled a 6-9-3 record in her time in net last season. The Bulls had a slow start against FGCU and will need to sharpen their attack in this last tune-up game before the season starts.
