TBR: Stony Brook depth chart break down: Offense

Time to break down the Stony Brook offense. The Seawolves will run out a three wide receiver base set, but will move players around and give Brian Jean-Mary and his unit a lot of different looks. 

Let’s start with the offensive line. At left tackle is senior Timon Parris (6’5″ 320 lbs.) who started all 11 games last year at tackle and was named 1st team All CAA (33 career starts at left tackle). His back-up is senior Chris Infantino (6’4″ 280 lbs.) who appeared in one game last year. At left guard is senior Armani Garrick (6’3″ 330 lbs.) who started 11 games last year and has started 33 career games. His back-up is sophomore Jaelen Vazquez (6’2″ 310 lbs.). At center is sophomore Joe Detorie (6’3″ 300 lbs.) who played in 4 games last year. His back-up is redshirt freshman Anthony Catapano (6’1″ 315 lbs.). At right guard is sophomore Mason Zimmerman (6’5″ 315 lbs.) who played in 9 games last year (6 starts). His back-up is redshirt freshman Ian McClean (6’6″ 290 lbs.). At right tackles is senior Jackson Miller (6’5″ 295 lbs.) who started all 11 games last year. His back-up is junior Jonathan Haynes (6’5″ 320 lbs.) who played in 9 games last year, starting 5 games at right guard last year.

The Seawolves run out of a 3-wide receiver base set with 1 tight end in their basic package. At tight end is junior Cal Daniels (6’2″ 255 lbs.) who had 5 catches in 11 games last year for 39 yards. His back-ups are senior Connor Davis (6’8″ 260 lbs.) who had 1 catch in 8 games last year and fellow senior Dennis Lestrange (6’4″ 250 lbs.) who had 1 catch in 11 games last year.

At the first wide receiver position is senior Donavin Washington (5’9″ 190 lbs.) who had 2 receptions for 39 yards last year in 3 games. His back-up is junior Nick Anderson (6’2″ 195 lbs.). At the second wide receiver spot is graduate senior transfer Harrison Jackson (6’2″ 210 lbs.). His back-up is sophomore Andrew Trent (6’1″ 180 lbs.) who had 4 receptions for 42 yards last year in 10 games. At the last wide receiver spot is senior Ray Bolden (5’9″ 190 lbs.) who, in 11 games last year, led the team with 37 receptions for 536 yards (14.5 yards per catch) and had one touchdown reception. His back-up is senior Julius Wingate (6’3″ 205 lbs.) who had 3 receptions for 26 yards last year in 11 games.

In the backfield is junior quarterback Joe Carbone (6’2″ 215 lbs.). Who, in 10 games last year, was 93 for 179 (52%) for 1017  yards including 3 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had 60 carries for 121 yards and ran for two touchdowns (this is a running team). His back-up is redshirt freshman Tyquell Fields (6’2″ 200 lbs.).

At running back is trio of players that will take the field. First is senior Stacey Bedell (5’9″ 190 lbs.) who had 152 carries last year in 11 games, totaling 698 yards (4.6 yards per carry) and scored 10 touchdowns (just 1 catch for 5 yards). Junior Jordan Gowins (5’11” 225 lbs.) had 131 carries in 11 games, totaling 508 yards (3.8 yards) and ran for two touchdowns. The third back USF will face is senior Donald Liotine (5’9″ 210 lbs) who had 54 carries last year (11 games) for 259  yards and 2 rushing touchdowns (also had 4 catches for 32 yards).
